What is the Invoice Title?
An invoice title is the label or heading that is generally printed at the top of the invoice document. The purpose for the invoice title is to communicate the nature and name of the document. This will serve the purpose of being easily able to be identified as the document for operational, accounting and recording purposes.

Depending on the purpose that it intends to serve, the invoice can have different names. Some examples of these names include, sales invoice, commercial invoice, proforma invoice, progressive invoice, advance invoice as well as others. As a side note, although the basic purpose of an invoice is to request payment from the customer, it can also be used for understanding purposes, such as in the case of a proforma invoice.
